What your device needs to run these lectures
Somewhere between a slow connection and a browser that refuses to load video, the actual learning stops. These requirements exist because a student in Nairobi and a student in Dublin should have the same experience of the material.
Most modern laptops and smartphones meet these requirements without any changes. The list below is for anyone who wants to verify before their first session, or who encountered an issue mid-lecture.
Device, browser, and connection specifics

Connection
Internet speed is the first thing to check
Video lectures stream at adaptive quality, but the experience degrades noticeably below 5 Mbps download speed. At that threshold, 720p playback runs without interruption on a standard connection. For 1080p, which is the default for diagram-heavy business model content, 10 Mbps is a more reliable floor.
A wired ethernet connection is preferable to Wi-Fi for long sessions, particularly when taking notes alongside video. Shared Wi-Fi in co-working spaces or universities can fluctuate — the platform will adjust quality automatically, but you may notice it.
- Minimum download: 5 Mbps for standard playback
- Recommended: 10 Mbps for full-resolution diagrams
- Upload: 1 Mbps minimum for interactive sessions
- Latency: below 150ms for live Q&A participation
Browser
Supported browsers and minimum versions
- Chrome 110 or later
- Firefox 115 or later
- Safari 16 or later
- Edge 110 or later
JavaScript and cookies must be enabled. Private browsing mode can interfere with session progress tracking.
Hardware
Minimum device specifications
- RAM: 4 GB minimum, 8 GB recommended
- Display: 1280×720 or higher
- OS: Windows 10, macOS 11, iOS 15, Android 10
- Storage: 500 MB free for offline materials
Audio output
Speakers or headphones are required — lecture audio is not captioned in real time, though transcripts are available after each session. Headphones reduce ambient noise interference, which matters during live discussion segments.
A microphone is only needed for live interactive sessions. Pre-recorded lecture modules require no microphone access.
Accessibility and assistive technology
All lecture materials are compatible with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver screen readers. Keyboard navigation covers all interactive elements. Colour contrast across the platform meets WCAG AAA standards, and all diagrams include descriptive text alternatives.
PDF and document downloads
Course materials include downloadable PDFs of business model frameworks, case study worksheets, and lecture slides. A PDF viewer is required — Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview on macOS, or any browser with built-in PDF support works fine.
Mobile access
Lectures are fully accessible on smartphones and tablets. The mobile layout prioritises readability of diagrams and framework charts. Pinch-to-zoom is supported on all diagram images. For extended study sessions, a larger screen reduces eye strain significantly.
